Real Madrid will seek their star forward Vinicius Junior’s help to sign Bayern Munich’s left-back Alphonso Davies in the upcoming summer transfer 2024, reported Relevo on Thursday.
Vinicius is one of the most well-known football stars in the world and has gained massive popularity due to his on-field heroics and fight against racism over the years.
Using his stature as a superstar, Vinicius hung out with the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, NBA’s LeBron James, Tennis’ Carlos Alcaraz and has decided to contact Davies to make sure he leaves Munich in June.
Vinicius did the same when Real Madrid were pursuing Jude Bellingham in the 2023 summer window. The Englishman was targeted by top clubs like Manchester City, and Liverpool but Los Blancos eventually secured the signing and the Brazilian played his role.
Los Blancos decided not to lure Davies with massive money but with their sporting ambitions, the lifestyle in Spain and the positive atmosphere within the team.
Madrid share a positive relationship with Bayern Munich and because of that, they have not opened talks with the Canadian defender as the Whites don’t want to jeopardise their relations with the German club over a signing.
Bayern offered multiple contracts to Davies but the player has so far refused to renew the current deal which ends in 2025.
As per the report, Madrid does not want to start a bidding war for the Canadian and intend to complete the signing in the smoothest possible way.
Due to the positive relations between Madrid and Bayern, it appears that if Davies pushes for a move to the Spanish capital, the Bavarians will not stay in his way, however, would demand a massive €60-70m signing fee.
